Born December 1973, Spanish citizen (European passport).
Medical degree at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) in 1997. Training in Clinical Pharmacology at University Hospital La Paz, Madrid (1998-2002). Clinical expert of the Spanish Agency on Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) from 2002 up to date.
Training as clinical assessor at the Spanish Agency on Medicines and Healthcare Products (AEMPS, July 2002-December 2005), mainly involved in European procedures (EMA).
Medical research staff of the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Puerta de Hierro. Clinical Pharmacology Department (2005-2011 and from May 2017-actual), mainly providing methodological support to the clinical research.
External clinical expert for the AEMPS (December 2005-actual), involvement in the assessment of marketing authorizations of new medicinal products for the CHMP. Direct activities in different working (EWP, CNSWP, RDG, RIWP and SAWP).From February 2011 to April 2017, Alternate member of the Committee for Human Medicinal Products (CHMP) of the EMA nominated by the AEMPS, being rapporteur of more than 30 new drug applications and more than 100 changes in the conditions for use of medicinal products, mainly oncologic medicinal products.Member of the RIWP-CHMP (July 2011-actual). Member of the Guideline Consistency Group (GCG)-EMA (January 2016-actual).
Areas of expertise include CNS- multiple sclerosis, rheumatology and inflammatory diseases, viral diseases and onco-haematology
Other areas of interest include assessment of the added value of new medicinal tosupport national drug policies on reimbursement and pricing decisions.
