Dr. Caroline Samer, Switzerland

Dr. Caroline Samer is a medical consultant in the departments of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, and the Multidisciplinary Pain Clinic at Geneva University Hospitals, as well as being Chargée d’enseignement at the University of Geneva. After specialising in internal medicine and clinical pharmacology and toxicology, she completed her postgraduate studies at the University of Sydney in the field of nuclear receptors applied to hepatoxicity and oncogenetics.

Dr Samer is now a researcher at the Swiss Centre for Applied Human Toxicology (SCAHT).   Her main areas of expertise are toxicogenetics & biomarkers of toxicity and CYP phenotyping.   She is coordinating the Master of Advanced Studies in Toxicology of the University of Geneva.

Dr. Samer was co-chair and scientific programme director of the 11th EACPT congress held in Geneva (Aug 28-31, 2013). She is a co-opted member of the EACPT Executive committee and has been a co-opted member of Council member since 2013. Dr. Samer is the Secretary and member of the Executive Committee of the Swiss Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology (SSCPT) and has been a Council member of the Swiss Society for Pharmacology and Toxicology (SSPT) since 2013.
